our privacy policy
We prefer avoiding legalese, so here’s how we approach privacy as clearly as we could figure out how to put it:
General terms
By using our sites (workiversary.com and/or workiversary.app), you are consenting to this privacy policy
By “our” and “we”, we mean The Workiversary Group — you can reach us at hello@workiversary.com, +1 (717) 782-2022, or 1296 Lititz Pike #1010, Lancaster, PA 17601
We have attempted to keep this privacy policy brief and easy to understand — if you have any questions or concerns, please share those questions or concerns with us on our contact us page
Like everyone else, we use cookies, and you can turn them off in your browser if you don’t want us to
This policy is effective August 21st, 2023 and may be updated from time to time — the updated privacy policy will be posted on this page — please check back periodically
We automatically record which web pages are being visited, the web page that had the referring link, and browser information provided by the visiting browser, which we collectively call “usage” data
We use the usage data to see which pages are popular and which are not popular in an attempt to improve the relevance and the usefulness of our web site
We also collect personally identifying information as described in the sections below
Use our contact us page to let us know if you want us to delete your personally identifying information from our live system
We follow industry standard best practices for database backup and retention — your personally identifying information will remain in our database backups until the database backups age out and are deleted
Our web hosting providers are the well respected companies SquareSpace and DigitalOcean — if you’re especially concerned about privacy, you’ll want to take a look at their privacy policies (SquareSpace, DigitalOcean), which are relevant because, on our behalf, they’re the ones actually storing the data referenced in this policy
workiversary.com
We collect names and email addresses provided to us on our contact us page and various other pages that allow us to sign up for communication from us
We do not sell the collected names or email addresses
We use the collected names and email addresses to send emails to our visitors who have expressed interest in us communicating with them
workiversary.app
The workiversary.app web application uses content provided by an honoree’s colleagues to create a positive work anniversary experience for the honoree
By contributing content, you are consenting that we can use the content for as long as it’s valuable, and in some cases we will be paid as part of our services related to and using the content — you can learn more about the product on our product web page
Contributed content is associated with the name and email address of the person who contributed it, which might be provided by the person, by someone the person knows, or by the person’s organization
We do not sell names or email addresses
We use names and email addresses to personalize each person’s experience of the web application, to make it easier to find or initiate work anniversaries to contribute to, and to cheer on top contributors
In all cases, you can opt out of receiving emails from us
As stated in the general terms, we will remove your email address and name at your request, but if your organization provided your name and email address, then we will notify them — and because we will have removed your personally identifying information, we then won’t have a way to stop them from adding it back in — thus we recommend in this case that the best course of action is probably to simply opt out of receiving emails
One last thing
Again, for the greater good, we wanted to err on the side of brevity and simplicity with this privacy policy. If anything at all is unclear about this privacy policy or you have any concerns, please reach out to us on our contact us page.
Thanks!
